The community of Sheldon, Vermont has a population of nearly 2000 and lies in the heart of Vermont's dairy and agriculture zone in Franklin County. Sheldon is situated in the central portion of this county on the east-west corridor highway of Route 105. The school site is between the Green Mountains and Lake Champlain and only a few minutes drive from the Canadian border. Sheldon consists of rolling uplands, farm land and extensive valleys and streams.
Sheldon Elementary School is a Kindergarten through Grade Eight school with approximately 300 students served by over forty staff. Class sizes average under twenty five and all grades are multiage, housing students for a two year span. There is a guidance teacher, half-time psychologist, speech pathologist, technology coordinator, school nurse, assessment coordinator and one principal.

The mission of Sheldon School is to have our students become lifelong learners who will maximize their ability to learn, think and solve problems in order to be prepared to meet their future challenges. In partnership with parents, our goal is for students to become responsible members of society.
